Danny has been dedicated to Ashtanga Yoga since May 1976, and has been sharing his knowledge through public and private teaching sessions worldwide since 1979. He welcomes students of all levels, from beginners to advanced practitioners and fellow teachers. Danny was among the pioneering westerners to master the complete classical sequences of Ashtanga Yoga.

He initially trained under David Williams and Nancy Gilgoff. David, the first western Ashtanga adept, invited Danny to start teaching alongside him in 1979, marking the beginning of Danny’s teaching journey.

Danny introduces Ashtanga Yoga forms to new students, seasoned practitioners, and yoga teachers alike. Many of his students have gone on to become teachers themselves, establishing their own yoga schools. He has also brought the Ashtanga practice to many yoga instructors from various other traditions and styles.

Throughout his career, Danny has instructed numerous renowned artists, musicians, dancers, and sports champions. He had the opportunity to study with K. Pattabhi Jois in 1978 and 1980 in Hawaii, including participating in Jois’ inaugural advanced series public classes in 1980 in Maui, Hawaii.

In addition to Ashtanga Yoga, Danny has explored and practiced various other forms of yoga and martial arts such as Karate, Kung Fu, and Tai Chi. His spiritual journey has been influenced by diverse teachings including those of Krishnamurti, Buddha, Jesus, Shiva, and various shamanic traditions from Native North and South America, the Pacific, Tibet, Africa, and South East Asia. This includes wisdom from Mayan, Egyptian, and Hawaiian cultures.

Danny’s primary goal is to assist individuals in cultivating a sacred, personal, safe, healing, meditative, consistent, and non-dogmatic yoga practice.
